The short version: everything you enter into Gleam stays on your device. We do not operate a server for this app, we do not collect your data, and we do not share it with anyone — because it never leaves your phone.
Gleam ("Gleam," "we," "us") is a personal medication-tracking companion for people using GLP-1 medications (oral pills or weekly injections). This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Gleam iOS app.
Gleam is a self-tracking tool. You may choose to enter:
All of this is stored only in local files on your device (inside the app's own private storage area), never on a server operated by us or anyone else, because Gleam has no backend and makes no network connections. Gleam performs no medication calculations of any kind and ships no medication data: every figure you see is text you typed, a count of entries you created, or a countdown you set yourself.
Gleam does not collect, and has no mechanism to collect:
Gleam does not integrate any advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or crash-reporting SDK, and it makes no network requests of any kind. This was verified directly against the app's source code, not assumed.
Gleam asks for permission to send local notifications — dose reminders and a "you can eat now" alert when a fasting window (for oral medications) ends. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device using Apple's local notification framework. There is no push-notification server, and no notification content is sent to us or to Apple's push service.
Because Gleam collects no data on any server, there is nothing for us to share, sell, or disclose to advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party. We do not have access to what you enter into the app.
Some information you may log in Gleam (medications, doses, side effects, weight) is health-related. This data is never transmitted off your device, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with any third party. Gleam is a personal tracking tool and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment — see the in-app "Medical disclaimer & sources" section and our Terms of Use for details.
Gleam is intended for adults managing their own GLP-1 medication regimen and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and in any case Gleam has no mechanism to transmit any user's information anywhere, to us or otherwise.
Your data is protected by iOS's standard app-sandboxing and, if enabled, your device's passcode/ Face ID/Touch ID. We recommend keeping a passcode enabled on your device, since anyone with access to an unlocked device could view locally stored app data — the same as for any other app on your phone.
If a future version of Gleam adds a feature that changes how data is handled (for example, an optional iCloud sync or Apple Health integration), we will update this Privacy Policy before that feature ships, and update the "Effective date" above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
