Data Deletion

Effective date: September 3, 2026

Inkling does not use accounts, passwords, or sign-in — you pair with a partner using a 6-character code instead. This page explains what "deleting your data" means in Inkling, and how to do it.

Leaving a space (removes access from this device)

In the App, go to Profile → Leave space. This unpairs your device: it removes the space code from your device and you will no longer see or receive that space's doodles and mood updates. This does not delete the space's content itself — if your partner is still paired to the same space, they keep access to everything drawn in it. Leaving a space is instant and happens entirely on your device.

Deleting a space's content entirely

Because there is no account to close, fully erasing a space's content (doodles, mood history, display names, and the pairing code record) is handled as a manual request rather than a self-serve button:

  1. Email tremainejerde8549@icloud.com from any address, with the subject "Delete Inkling space data."
  2. Include the 6-character pairing code of the space you want deleted (this is how we locate the correct record — we have no other way to identify a space).
  3. We will verify the request is reasonable and delete the space's content from our database, typically within 5 business days.

Once deleted, the space and everything in it — doodles, mood status, display names tied to that space, and the pairing code itself — is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Any device still paired to that space will lose access at the same time.

What we don't hold beyond this

Inkling collects no account credentials, no email address, and no phone number tied to you personally — there is nothing else to delete beyond a space's content as described above. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of what is and is not collected.
